1. Welcome Dr. Lettieri
Dr. Salvatore Lettieri joined the AO NA Board of Directors in March as AO CMF NA’s representative.
2. Chair’s Vision & Expectations for 2026
Dr. Kapatkin highlighted key opportunities for AO NA to pursue this year, including innovation in educational offerings and delivery methods, as well as strengthening member engagement.
3. AO F – AO NA Grant Agreement
The Board approved the proposed agreement strengthening the partnership between AO NA and AO F.
4. AO Membership in North American
The Board reviewed the results from the AO NA 2026 Membership Survey for which AO F and AO NA will devise plans to enhance membership value, engagement, and communications.
5. Education Update
Dr. Subramaniam summarized AO NA’s 2025 courses and registrations and reviewed the 2026 course lineup. She also provided an update on the Education Advisory Board’s Education Transformation Subcommittee, including its initial meetings and plans for a two-day meeting during OneAO® 2026. She further reported on the outcomes of the AO Milestones pilot from the November 2025 Basic Principles course, plans to integrate DEHST into the April 2026 Basic Principles and Pelvic and Acetabular courses at OneAO® 2026, and anticipated next steps.
6. Governance
The Board approved:
- Minutes summarizing its November 2025 meeting;
- The position description for the AO NA Representative to the American Medical Association’s Specialty and Services Society; and a
- Policy on the development, approval, and management of Memos of Understanding, Letters of Agreement, and Project Charters.
7. Financials
The Board accepted AO NA’s 2025 audited financial statements following review by the Audit Committee and Baker Tilly. The auditors reported no areas of concern, no going concern issues, and no findings or recommendations in the management letter.
8. Information Technology
The Board received an update on plans to move AO NA’s membership system to AO F’s platform, including transition planning, timeline, staff training, and development of a draft data usage agreement.
9. AO Update
AO President, Mark Markel, and AO CEO and Vice Chair, Claas Albers, provided an update on AO F’s activities and programming.
10. OneAO®
Dr. Subramaniam highlighted the special events planned for OneAO® 2026 in Tampa in April, and Dr. Lee led a discussion on possible formats and structures for future meetings.
11. Open Forum
- New AO NA Headquarters – Richards stated that the AO NA office will move from Wayne, PA to King of Prussia, PA in May.
- AO SNA Representative – Jones reported that the election for the AO SNA Representative to the AO NA Board of Directors will close on 18 March 2026.
