AO North America Honors Dr. Denis Marcellin-Little with a 2026 Educator Award

April 27, 2026 – Wayne, PA — The AO North America community is set to come together at the OneAO® event in Tampa, FL, this April to celebrate the 2026 Educator Awards, honoring outstanding educators for their extraordinary contributions to medical education. These prestigious awards will recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to training physicians at every stage of their careers across a wide range of specialties, including orthopedic trauma, spine, craniomaxillofacial, hand surgery, and veterinary medicine.

Among this year’s distinguished honorees will be Denis Marcellin-Little, DEDV, a distinguished veterinary orthopedic surgeon and educator, who will receive the Alan Ruggles Educator Award. Dr. Marcellin-Little has been selected for this honor in recognition of his decades-long dedication to veterinary education and mentorship.

With more than 30 years of teaching experience at North Carolina State University and the University of California, Davis, Dr. Marcellin-Little has mentored veterinary students, residents, and fellows in both clinical and research environments. A long-standing member of AO VET North America for over 20 years, his clinical work focuses on joint replacement and limb deformities, while his research explores surgical planning, bone healing, and the management of chronic pain and disability.
